Knex Challenge County Finals
Teams from 102 primary schools from across Gloucestershire assembled at Millbrook Academy on Tuesday 28th April to take part in the K’nex Challenge County Finals. The teams representing each of the schools was selected by being the best from the in-school challenge run during the previous two terms. In one hour the teams were challenged to construct a rescue vehicle against a clear specification which included a locking door, appropriate rescue equipment and a mechanical mechanism.
Engineers from GE Aviation assessed each team as it developed its solution and judged the final models against the original specification. A fantastic range of creative and innovative solutions were displayed presenting the judges with a really difficult process of determining the winners.
With so many teams involved the challenge was run in two sessions, and winners identified from each session. Huge congratulaitions to all the winners against very still competition.
