The government are looking to update the assessment of science and have already begun to carry out research into curriculum problems.  Keep up-to-date with the very latest government changes especially in assessment, monitoring and curriculum design as well as Ofsted’s focus on primary science.  This full day course is an essential part of a Science Subject Leader’s calendar.

Course Tutor

Debbie Eccles is a partner working in a partnership known as “Primarily Science”. She is kept busy, providing consultancy, and delivering science courses, school based CPD and conference Key notes and workshop sessions. Debbie has also been involved in producing a variety of well received resources. Most recently she was part of the writing team that produced “Science Bug” Pearson’s primary science scheme linked to curriculum 2014.

During her teaching career she has held a number of roles including science coordinator and deputy head. Following this she held Local Authority Primary Science Advisory roles in two NW LAs and continue to work in these and numerous others. She is an active member of ASE and the Futures group.

Debbie believes passionately in children working as scientists and promotes practical, engaging and challenging science lessons that ignite children’s’ curiosity.
