Action planning in mathematics – how to use assessment information to review previous action plans and to create new action plans for mathematics.

10 July, 2012

Who is this training for?

This course is designed for mathematics subject leaders to provide them with analytical skills to review assessment information and support to write clear and concise mathematics action plans.

During this course, we will

  • look at school assessment information – what, how, when, who and why – to see what it tells us
  • review the outcomes of previous mathematics action plans – what worked well and why – and present a summary which could be used with governors, senior leadership teams and parents
  • use current assessment information to create a new action plan that supports the school improvement plan
  • consider how this plan will be implemented, monitored and evaluated through discussion of the roles and responsibilities of the subject leader

Subject leaders will leave the day feeling more confident in their abilities to interpret, review and create action plans based on the mathematics assessment information they have. They will have an improved understanding of how they can link the mathematics action plan to the school's improvement plans and of their role in ensuring that actions happen, are reviewed, evaluated and communicated to all concerned.
