STEMworks at Cheltenham Science Festival

STEMworks supported Siemens at the 2015 Cheltenham Science Festival to enthuse the next generation of engineers.  Students from 16 schools attended the workshops where they needed to build an egg lander.  Inspiration was provided by a model Mars Curiosity Rover and there were plenty of engineers on hand to help the students ensure they landed the egg safely and economically.

Some future engineers had to learn what works and what doesn’t the hard way, while many others successfully landed their eggs safely on terra firma.
