The Eden Project’s iconic domes have become a well talked about feature of the modern landscape. Their hexagonal components hold numerous architectural and geometric features.
During this workshop students will be given an introduction to civil engineering and use their understanding of shape to build different types of structures, including towers, bridges, towers and geodesic domes. The activities foster teamwork, communication and numeracy skills. The workshop could be used in conjunction with other subject areas, including DT, science, maths, geography and Cwricwlwm Cymreig.
Due to the nature of this workshop, it will be essential to have a large area available for the production and construction of the domes.
