RIAT Junior Engineer Challenge Winners Take on LEGO Robotics
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming the winners of the RIAT Junior Engineer Challenge 2026 to our LEGO Robotics Lab workshop, where pupils from years three to six put their engineering, teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test.
Throughout the day, teams tackled a series of hands-on robotics challenges, designing, programming and refining their solutions as they worked together to overcome obstacles. It was fantastic to see the creativity, resilience and communication skills on display, with pupils quickly building confidence as they explored the world of robotics and engineering.
One of the highlights of the workshop was the involvement of a teacher team, creating a fun and collaborative environment where staff and pupils could learn, compete and celebrate success together.
We would like to thank the RAF Charitable Trust and MBDA UK for their support of this year's Junior Engineer Challenge and for helping to provide inspiring STEM opportunities for young people.
At STEMworks, we are passionate about creating engaging experiences that develop not only technical understanding but also the essential skills of teamwork, critical thinking and communication. The enthusiasm shown throughout the day was a reminder of just how capable young people are when given the opportunity to explore, create and innovate.
We had an absolute blast and are already looking forward to next year's challenge!
