Primary Workshops

Gloucestershire K’NEX

Suitable for: Years 4 – 6
Student number: up to 36
Workshop length: 2-3 hours

Get ready to introduce your students to the exciting world of engineering! Our K’Nex workshop will provide them with the perfect opportunity to solve a given problem using their creativity and skills. Each school will have a winning team, chosen for their ability to work together, solve problems, produce a working model, and communicate their ideas effectively. And the best part? The winning team will be invited to the Gloucestershire K’Nex final!

Our half-day session is flexible to fit around your school's schedule. Pupils will work in pairs to design and construct their solution. We’ll start with an introduction and give them an hour to create their designs using the K’Nex construction kit. K’Nex is a highly adaptable construction kit that allows pupils to experiment with structures, gears, and other mechanisms while modelling their design.

Our team from STEMworks will be visiting schools from September onwards to deliver a half-day workshop for up to 36 KS2 students. We’ll choose a team to represent your school at the final during the summer term. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to inspire and engage your students in the world of engineering!
