An engaging, hands-on challenge to build an air-powered vehicle capable of carrying a precious parcel while honing teamwork, problem-solving, and financial planning skills.
Workshop Highlights
Students will work in teams of four to:
Design and construct a functional vehicle powered by air.
Solve landing challenges to minimize impact.
Budget their designs and justify associated costs.
Present their ideas to peers and industry professionals.
Flexible Timetabling
This full-day workshop is tailored to fit around your school’s schedule, with flexibility for breaks and lunch times. Teams will be scored on their ability to:
Work collaboratively.
Solve problems creatively.
Produce a functional and cost-effective design.
Communicate their ideas confidently.
How It Works
A STEMWorks representative, supported by a local STEM Ambassador (often an engineer), will lead the workshop at your school.
STEMWorks will provide all necessary equipment.
Schools only need to provide a large space (e.g., sports hall) and a presentation setup.
