Coding Workshops
Suitable for: KS1 / KS2
Student number: up to 30
Workshop length: Half Day
Our ‘Introduction to Coding’ workshop introduces pupils to the fascinating world of robotics and highlights the many everyday devices that are computer controlled. Working in groups of two or three, pupils begin by constructing an animal robot and through an intuitive drag and drop app installed on a tablet, program their robot to complete a series of tasks. Problem solving, communication and team work are skills pupils will develop as well as resilience. This workshop is suitable for Reception. Year 1 and Year 2 pupils.
If pupils already have knowledge of coding, our ‘Next Steps in Coding’ workshop may be more suitable. This session explores more advanced coding concepts using a block-base, open-ended visual programming language. Pupils will learn various commands and write complex code to complete a set of challenges. This workshop is suitable for Years 2 to 4.
STEMworks provide all the resources required for each workshop.
